Drive (4×11) Inconsistence

Being the nit-picker that I am I couldn’t help but notice that Marty (born 1/8/79) and Talia (12/21/93) were born only 14 years apart… so in fact when she was “little” (so little she can’t remember him…) would he be only a Teen or in his early Twenties max… isn’t that a bit young for a public defender ??

I caught that as well. Deeks is a lot smarter than he lets on sometimes (most of the time), preferring to hide behind jokes and clever quips. He’s accomplished a lot in a short amount of time – lawyer, cop, detective, NCIS Liason – it wouldn’t surprise me at all to find out he passed the bar at a young age.

And speaking of things we’re curious about…what ever happened to the Agent papers that Hetty gave him?? Did they just get forgotten about??

Kailene, regarding the agent application, Hetty had it prepared on Deeks’s behalf (because she was planning on leaving) but at the time Deeks wasn’t ready to quit being a cop.

So I’m guessing that Hetty has them filed away with her resignation letter and will simply re-date them as necessary should Deeks change his mind.

I’ve always noticed that too. Doesn’t it take 7 years total to become a lawyer? And I wonder how long he was a lawyer before he became a cop? That’s a lot to accomplish in what is a short amount of time considering that he is only 34 years old. Maybe Deeks is a genius who graduated from law school at a very young age.

Technically, if he’d taken a heavy load of classes and summer school he could have taken his bar at 23 and the time line wouldn’t be so strange. However, we all know that the continuity log at NCISLA hasn’t always been accurate, case in point being Gordon John Brandel’s dob. I say go with the flow. 🙂
