Love this show ,but glad season 7 has gone back to the action and good story lines, season 6 was a little disappointing
Really loved this episode, after I struggled with the one last week.
Can’t wait to rewatch it, lots of action, great dialogues!!
And a problem to solve in the future! Go get the mole!
This is number one for ranking in the 4 so far! Wasn’t too keen on the post-seduction scene in the boat house, but they did have her emphatically state that it was all a lie. I guess they did that just to clarify that point and to have her ask Deeks to take her home (their home!) so she could get out of that $3000 dress, emphasizing that they are living together. Sure didn’t lead into anything with the plot. Her line of something like ” I don’t like perfection, I like them a little broken” and Callen’s teasing “Yeah, I can see that” while looking at Deeks – who just grinned. Great.
The breakfast scene – fantastic! Just what we fans have been begging for. Him cooking for them with the table set, her coming down the stairs barefoot into the kitchen. The adult conversation – wonderful!! and of course the kiss (es); just right, loving but not passionate. They really do work great together. And then him asking her to get his shoes while he packs up the breakfast – reality. Yea!
Loved the way the Brunson character led Callen and Sam around by the nose. I had forgotten the name of the villain in “Three #$@!”, but Sam did kill him. And now they mention Hetty’s personal puppet, Paul Angelo. I liked the way they set up for the IA episode and for finding the mole chief… no idea who it is. I think they are setting up Deeks for accepting bribes or something similar, haven’t seen that desire for money from him before; kind of OOC.
Overall, excellent episode. Well written, well acted, well directed. I’m looking forward to next week’s show with Tony. Will be interesting how the production staff plays his recognition of the Densi relationship against his failure with Ziva.

Overall, loved it. The breakfast scene was perfect – I love how ECO and DR work together in a well written scene. Only scene I was less than enthusiastic about was the boathouse one…
I liked the set up for the IA episodes and for the mole… I’m afraid they are setting up the IA to be about accepting bribes, and that would be so OOC for Deeks; that is the only reason I can think for all the money references.
This episode supposed to be great, touching, intense, heart breaking… I don’t know but at least remarkable. It was a nice episode but nothing more. Like the finale. Nice episode but I expected more from it (how many finales or 150 eps do you have?)
IMO they tried to please everybody and all fandoms in one episode and that never works out. There was Nell in the field (something that I don’t like at all, she is not and will never be a believable field agent, sorry), too much Densi that was not case related (I knew this would happen when they got together but usually the writers have a better balance). It was more like any x-mas episodes with a nice story. Only this wasn’t the x-mas episode and I had high hopes (like the 100 eps, which was definitely remarkable). Maybe it has something to do with that tweet from one of the writers during the hiatus and his question what the NCIS LA fans want for the new season. That was like: hey we are running out of ideas please help us doing our job. And the worst thing is doing what the fans want instead of creating genuine, original and one of a kind stories and character developments.
The case was a copy (kind of) of the “Die Hard: With a Vengeance”.
The team worked well together for this case all of them incl. Eric and Nell in the OPS plus Granger. The showdown at the convention center was okay but I expected it a bit more dramatic.
So I think I will watch the next one on DVR sometime later since that one will be an episode focused on DiNozzo a lot of Deeks and Densi. My high hopes are on the sweep episodes.
By the way could it be that the writers try to solve all -and I mean all- the loose ends they create the previous seasons? Deeks Mom (why was she important? Do we know Sam’s, Nell’s or Eric’s mom?), the mole, Paul Angelo, the IA, Khaled, Jada’s brother (spoiler Jada was is in one of the next eposiodes)… Any ideas why?
As I recall, the show runners said they were going to try and tie up some of the loose ends from previous seasons during season 7. I think Mama Deeks is tied to the IA somehow so they had to introduce her. We have the mole and the IA to resolve; I agree that the Sam episodes (probably dealing with his family) is why Jada is back. Monica Lee is back for the IA denouement – although it will be interesting to see how a crooked attorney is woven into the plot. Either “Blame it on Rio” is a stand alone episode or an audition for Tony in the NCIS LA world. I know that DR’s contract is up for renewal but I don’t know about LH status. The show runners have already leaked teasers about what happens to Densi next season, so I don’t think they are even thinking about a Ziva situation.
I thought this was a well done all team effort. Sam and Callen were responding to the bomber and Kensi, Deeks, Nell and Eric were trying to figure out what was going on as well as trying to back up the guys. I didn’t think they were pandering to all the fan interests – the show is mature enough for there to be several paths forward. Personally, I like the fact that the producers took our comments into account.
I think the breakfast scene was not just for us Densi fans although the situation, the adult conversation and the kisses solidified their relationship. It also set the scene for how Kensi reacts when Deeks is accused of whatever a few weeks from now. I really don’t know what to think about Deek’s sudden money fixation… either just a issue for Densi to play off or a hint to the IA??
If the producers carry through with the hints, we may be seeing a pregnant Kensi around Christmas time. I don’t know when the DR and Mercedes Mason bikini shots were taken, but it appeared to me that DR’s tummy is not as flat as it was in Episode 1 on the beach. Just sayin’. These folks don’t do anything without a reason, even if we mere mortals don’t understand at the moment!
I really liked this episode. I thought it had the feel of season 4, where they just primarily focus on the case and less relationship status. I did like the Kensi and Deeks scene at the beginning was nicely done. It didn’t overshadow anything else. I am not a big fan of Nell in the field mainly because I felt she was a little cocky about it. However, when she was with Granger she asked him questions, realizing that she still had things to learn when out in the field.
I agree skippy they bring up ALL the loose ends seems like in one episode. LOL. That can be a little overwhelming. I’m a die hard fan, but I can’t remember everything they have left open. I saw the picture of Jada for an upcoming episode. Remember back a couple of seasons where Jada’s brother said he would come after Sam? I think that’s why, and I bet that it’s leading up to something big based on the spoilers that Sam has to deal with something toward the end of the season.
It was much-much better then I expected after that c**p (sorry sindee, there is just no better word to describe that) 100th episode. Little bit of a filler, but entertaining, and had the focus on the things, I love about the show.
The convention center shootout was uncharactestically short and a little predictable, -1 point.
No daddy issues – plus one point, so in total back to 10/10.

The thing is there are too many filler episodes. When was the last one that was purely a NCIS related case?
In this one was no character development only nice scenes that doesn’t hurt anyone of the team. How many more episodes do they need to remind us of the loose ends from the previous seasons?
The ratings getting worse so I don’t think there will much time left to finally solve some of the loose ends and just not remind us that there are some loose ends.
I gave up rating on a predefined basis long time ago – so now I just watch the episode, and rate it according to my mood, the sunshine (or lack of it), and a million other things.
I gave it a good rating becayue I was genuinely entertained, nothing felt forced or awkward. That’s the reason, the season opener got from me a way better rating at first, than at second blick.
I don’t care if it’s a filler. It matched my requirements, so why not rate it good? 🙂 Plus, I’m a fan, not a TV viewer, so my emotions are getting in the way of logical judgement (pretty much the only case this happens) and I rate higher than a normal person would.
Also I’d like to put my two cents in on the why are they bringing up all the loose ends. Just my speculation, but probably they want to tie up everything by the end of the season – just in case the show won’t be renewed. (I hate to be the forever pessimistic, but there is a significant chance for that. We could debate and argue about the reasons for a long time, but that won’t change the fact, that the ratings are less, than impressive.) So the creators are planning with an 8th season, but write a finale for S7 that will do justice also as a series finale if that will be it.
You always find ways to complain, only thing I was interested or tracked off, Deeks money fixation, well thats clearly off the character really or they be hinting something.
Dont put Nell in the field ! And dont get Nell and Eric together please ! They should stay just as good friends.
To me it was a glorified filler episode, not special enough to warrant a 150th. A touch too much domesticity with Deeks/Kensi but it cements their relationship. Why did Eric think he could go in to the field with Granger? He’s not an agent and was portrayed as a little goofy at the start.
I am another that doesn’t like Nell in the field (or Nell, full stop). The loose threads they keep bringing up…Are they worried they won’t get renewed for S8? Possibly, even though they clearly have plans for S8.
And as for Callen’s daddy issues, they have come up in about four episodes out of 7 seasons (and then not even for an entire episode (except 100th) and will always be infinitely more interesting than Kensi and Deeks having breakfast.

I’m feeling the same too! Callen’s character is the most complex of all the agents. Even if he finds his father he has so many sides and shades to explore… nothing compared with a kiss over the breakfast table.
