On screen this dynamic duo is known for their awkward and entertaining scenes. But off screen, the two are best “Buddies” as Renée Felice Smith, who plays Nell Jones, says during an interview on The Talk last year.
“We’re just buddies. Yeah I mean we really entertain each other.”
Barrett Foa, who plays Eric Beale, adds.
“Yeah, its pretty natural. We’re both goofballs! We just make fools of each other and everyone else gets to laugh with us, or at us.”
Slowly but steadily we, the fans, have managed to learn more about what is known to the “Fandom” as “Neric”. Recently more has come to light, though many have been focused on the increasingly revealing and tense “Densi” (Deeks and Kensi) relationship. The Christmas episodes, Humbug and Free Ride, have shown more about the characters feelings for each other.
“What was that for?” -EricWhy are you doubting it Eric? Get yourself together Beale! As Eric messes up the machine out of shock.
Building up to these special partner moments Renée, aka Nell Jones, was brought in a special guest. Only to be shown when truly necessary, like a less frequent Nate Getz, played by Peter Cambor. Thank goodness the actors got along so well or the team we know so well could be very different.

Hard to say that I have only one favorite Neric – moment. I love every moment of them. I love their special moments mentioned here: the kiss, the notes, the invitation for christmas. ♡
But for mentioning at least one:
When Nell says to Eric it would be more believable in front of her parents to present him as her boyfriend! ♥
My favorite Neric moment is not romantic. In fact, it was really funny to me. It was the long pants – incinerator scene. Even though it had me doubled over in laughter, it was a special bonding moment. Nell realized how distressed her partner was, and then helped come up with a solution. I don’t even know if that even makes sense.
