The song featured in last night’s NCIS Los Angeles episode “The Frozen Lake” after Hetty told Deeks that Kensi was sent on a classified mission for an indefinite period of time was a version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”. [The version of Diane Birch we learned !!]
I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
‘Till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Well, I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I’m getting older too
Well, I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I, I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I’m getting older too
I’m getting older too
So, take my love, take it down
Oh climb a mountain and turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring you down, down
And If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe the landslide will bring it down
Oh oh, the landslide will bring it down
This song was already in my playlist, heart breaking, like the last scene
This is one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time. When I was young (showing my age here) and it first came out, and I was in love for the first time, I felt it was all about my new relationship. As I have aged, though, and had my two wonderful children, now young adults, I have come to understand the song has meaning to my life as a mother whose children have grown up and begun their lives separate from her. When I hear this special music, my eyes well up and my heart pounds so hard for this is the sound of my life, and I feel so blessed these artists wrote this when I could live in it.
I loved hearing the song too! I did not think it was Stevie Nick’s voice. Does anyone know who was singing it? I thought it was a pretty good version and have been trying to find out. Thanks.
Love the song too, but I thought it was too heavy handed for the ending and this show. Maybe I would have liked it better if Stevie Nicks was singing it. A nice instrumental would have been nice.
