In the season opener, Callen’s secretive, rogue investigation into “something,” showrunner Shane Brennan cryptically teases, “creates a lot of tension” between him, Sam and Hetty and will have a “fairly major” payoff midway through the season, in a double-episode event. Other fall outings introduce Deeks’ mom (guest star Pamela Reed), mark the series’ 150th episode (which features a “very funny” undercover op for Kensi and Deeks) and welcome a visit from NCIS’ Michael Weatherly (whose DiNozzo “is in virtually every scene”). Elsewhere, Eric “wants to be more of a macho man and prove himself,” Brennan says, and to that end he will (amusingly) get weapons training from Sam, while the Internal Affairs investigation that has hounded Deeks “comes to a head.”
BONUS SPOILER!: Bar Paly, who was introduced in the May finale as Arkady Kolcheck’s daughter Anna, will return “in a very unexpected way,” for a “big, big, big storyline,” Brennan shares.

Do you think she’ll kick Joelle aside? Not too sure which of them I’d prefer to see as Callen’s love interest.
Or would Brennan mean something very different, like…
– Will she be hired by Janvier to kill Callen?
– Will she actually be one of Hetty’s orphans?
– Did Arkady secretely meet a Comescu, made love to her and is Anna a Comescu too?
– Will she and Eric fall in love or what?
Don’t like spoilers like this. AT.ALL
I agree with you 🙂
#BringOnFluffyCallen
And I guess the IA investigation on Deeks “hounded him” off screen 😉
Maybe she callen sister that be major
love callen & Sam alone
OMG Callen and Anna?
Callanna? ???
I didn’t like Anna AT ALL. Not happy that she’s returning.
Seems like over the last couple of years, the number of highly skippable episodes has increased and the number of can’t miss eps has gone down (and many of the latter have been big disappointments.)
I hope the season premiere opens up a good storyline. I also hope the Deeks IA investigation sees some good followthrough. I am not looking forward to Anna’s return. I didn’t like her very much.
I agree with the above comments! I did not like Anna and wish that she wasn’t coming back.
I don’t think they did Ana’s introduction well. There was too much of a new character thrown into a finale that I didn’t really enjoy. I’m willing to see how here second appearance goes, hopefully interacting with the whole team. They set up the break up of Joelle and Callen in the car when he dropped her off. She doesn’t seem to be able to handle his undercover work, the danger, and his disappearances to be undercover.
I can’t wait to see what the undercover assignment is for Kensi and Deeks. A return to playing Justin and Melissa (Neighborhood Watch) perhaps? And introducing mama Deeks. Should be interesting.
Tony’s visit will be awesome. I can imagine he and Deeks getting on Sam’s last nerve!
Any woman who HESITATES when G. Callen says “See you tonight?” is NOT the woman for him 😉 Just saying.
Amen to that, Crystal!
I am excited for all the spoilers except the Anna one. They push new characters on us that they like, but don’t let us grow to like them on our own or not. I did not like her.
I didn’t like Anna either. At the time I wondered why she was even in the episode. She wasn’t really vital to the storylines. And I didn’t really see any chemistry between Callen and her to suggest any kind of “love interest” thing. I wonder if Anna has some sort of information about his father.
After the “spoilers” last season this season I just roll my eyes and believe it when I see it.
Ok, keeping an open mind as this time last year, the Shane Brennan teasers were shared and they pretty much led to nothing (e.g. Callen’s new love, towards the end of the season)…The only truth we know is that Callen goes rogue, which causes some friction. And that is in the press release and the promo.
I have learned not to pay too much attention to spoilers, they are rarely accurate. That goes for all shows, not just NCIS:LA. The end result rarely lives up to the hype. You have to remember that spoilers are intended to generate viewers, nothing more.
