“Recovery” – Kensi goes undercover as a nutritionist and Deeks poses as a new patient at a rehab center to investigate the death of a Navy officer, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Tuesday, Nov. 19 (9:00-10:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. William Russ guest stars as Martin Lake, owner of Tranquility Villa.
CHEAT TWEET: You’ll never guess what Deeks goes into rehab for while undercover! #NCISLA 11/19 9/8c http://bit.ly/1dQFPuL
Oh my!!!! When they dropped the bomb about the dinner, I never thought it would be undercover. But tumblr is driving me mad to the point where I will just stop reading.
When I first watched the promo and saw the line “I want to be at my place right now, with you…” I didn’t take the word “place” literally. I thought he just meant he wants to go back to the state where he was safe and happy, only this time it won’t be a figure of his imagination. He wants to make it real!
On the other hand as Gayle also said on twitter, I think there is a big BUT coming right after that. Ι fear the use of the words “right now”. He could have said “for the rest of my life”.
I just hope that the last watershed scene is not literally a minute long. Although the scene where they exit the bullpen seems to be how they usually end the episodes.
I don’t know. The more I think about it the more I drove myself nuts. We’ll just going to have to wait.
I think that dinner is an undercover scene, where Deeks plays his sex addict part. Maybe there is some double meaning in that, but the official situation would be he making a pass on the Kensi the nutritionist.
I have a feeling the emotional scene they were talking about is not the dinner date, but another moment they may not want to spoil(er) just yet.
Ok.
It is precisely Kensi’s surprised “What” that got me suspicios as to what this scene really is. That is them, undercover, posing as something and Deeks saying that out of the blue – what folows is I think more of a comical scene, rather than romantic – as I believe it is not them, but the ‘sex addict’ and the ‘nutritionist’ having that conversation.
Maybe Kensi’s “What” is no adressed to Deeks specific quote. Maybe they eddited the promo in such a way to make it look like she is.
I’m excited for next week’s episode, especially for the ‘final minute’ but also very cautious. I don’t think they are undercover for the dinner scene, and I don’t think Deeks would lay his heart out there like that if they were. The last scene in the promo video doesn’t seem to follow the dinner scene (Deeks is wearing a different shirt), and I’m wondering what else in the promo is misleading. I do think that in the previously released promo still of the dinner scene, Kensi’s body language was distant and cold, so I’m afraid poor Deeks is going to get his heart broken. We were warned it was going to be a rough road…
Jan,
Yeah, that was the feeling I had after the promo ended. They’re only a few episodes into this season and I don’t think they are going to have Kensi and Deeks jump right into something this soon. Like you said, Mr. Brennan said it was going to be a long road and I can see Kensi telling Deeks that she can’t take the chance on losing him if they get any closer than just best friends … that she has to find someone who’s job doesn’t require risking their life everyday. They’ve only got two or three episodes left before the team split … I’m wondering if that is a result of Deeks’ reaction to Kensi’s possible rejection and Hetty has to do something drastic to keep him on the team.
Guess that we might find out something next week.

My personal hopes and dreams aside … it was a cute promo scene, designed specifically to draw the viewers into next week’s show. They’ve done this before … edited a scene to make it appear to be something it is not.
Don’t get me wrong … I love NCIS: Los Angeles with a passion but I fear the powers that be are starting to play the same game that happened on NCIS with Tony and Ziva where they strung the tension out for as long as they could (with disasterous results I might add) to string fans along. The kiss, the tender moment on Deeks’ couch, Kensi taking him out to eat … all water under the bridge, so it seems. They have surprised me in the past, but we are still only a few episodes into this season … they have a long way to go.
I will keep my fingers crossed and pray that the writers will break with tradition and finally take these two wonderful characters where they are destined to be … together.

I really think that they have taken us farther than Tiva ever went until Cote decided to leave the show. Then of course they had to rush the union etc…
I think even though something is supposed to happen in the last minute of the show, the scene that they showed is not the end of the show. I bet you that’s the first part of their undercover assignment. Get Deeks to the rehab centre, stage a public meltdown or something like that.
If I was being honest I don’t want Kensi and Deeks to get together anytime soon… maybe at the end of the season. Both of them need to get past this torture thing and both need to get past their feelings of insecurities… Kensi being Jack abandoning her and Deeks growing up abused and killing his father.
oh my goooood the next episode will be densi <3.
The curiosity is killing me for the past two weeks,. Kensi is really upset then the question arises, coverage or not??
Tuesday move, move!!
I tried posting before but it didn’t go through. Let’s try this again.
I rarely ever post, but I felt the need to this time. I haven’t seen the tumblr stuff about this episode (not sure I want to). But I have heard the rumor that the dinner scene is an undercover type thing. And I have to disagree with that theory. Here’s why.
Almost every episode starts the same and ends the same. The team walks into OSP, drops their bags, settle at their desks, and then the whistle blows on a new case. At the end of the case, the team straighten out their desks, grab their bags, and walk out the door. They don’t grab their bags to investigate or go undercover. Deeks is wearing a white t-shirt throughout the promo and Kensi is wearing a dark green button down shirt. Most of the recent cases have been solved in a day. So I think it’s safe to assume that this episode is no different. At the end of the promo when Kensi bumps Deeks’ shoulder as they’re leaving OSP, with their bags, they’re wearing the same clothes and the sun still seems to be out. Looks like they solved the case and are heading out for the night. If the case lasted just one day, how could they have an undercover dinner at night? And why would Kensi be wearing the same shirt she wore all episode if it was undercover? It stands to reason that if Hetty made Deeks change for the undercover dinner that she would make Kensi change too. To me, it seems like this is a real dinner and not an undercover one.
Also, they need to have a moment in this episode in order to explain the moment in the next episode. When Kensi and Callen were getting ready to leave for Pakistan (I think it was Pakistan) to find Janvier, Kensi and Deeks had the Monica Debacle to propel them into having the “you suck at communicating” conversation. Which led to the kiss (still not over it). Though they’ve had moments this season together (the “it’s a love story” moment, Kensi saying she missed him during his first day back, offering to have dinner after his first day back, stating she’s his partner and needs to protect him, etc.) they haven’t had anything really substantial in a few episodes. Nothing that clearly states where they are emotionally in regards to each other. I think most everyone knows that Kensi will be away from the team while Daniela Ruah is off having her baby boy. I’m sure that goodbye scene will be heart wrenching. But it will carry more impact if there’s a scene in this episode that makes it seem like both of them are moving forward and maybe open to starting something. I’m not sure how this episode is going to go. I don’t think either of them will be making any declarations of love. But I think it’s possible that they both agree they’re open to taking it slow and seeing if it can work. Neither wants to ruin the partnership they have. And both of them have commitment issues. It could happen. It absolutely may not happen like I think it will. But I don’t think they’d dangle the dinner scene in front of us if it’s just going to be an undercover dinner. That’s just me though. Hope all of this babble made sense. 🙂
Well, ECO did say in the KTLA interview that something happens that you can’t come back from that impacts their relationship and it’s a “watershed moment”..but they’ve fooled us before. I’m happy for a Densi episode. We’ve had really good single character episodes and really good ensemble episodes, but if they don’t give some attention to the pairings that they’ve teased, that the fans like, (and I mean more than a 10 second spot walking from here to there with some banter)then it’s just mean and why bother poking us with a stick in the first place. I love the show, regardless..but I’m going to stop hoping for some action.
I love ncis Los Angeles
I doubt they would give away the key scene of the episode in a promo. Yes, they teased the dinner and they teased a watershed moment, but it does not necessarily mean they are the same. I confess I would prefer to be totally surprised by that special scene, to be something I caanot anticipate. The dinner scene somehow does not look like what I would consider a key moment that is in agreement with who they are. I so totally believe they need a different environment to open up, not in a formal restaurant full of people, but somewhere more private. I may though be totally wrong.
Wasn’t the “Watershed moment” that they’ve been teasing supposed to be in episode 10? I think they’ll end this one on a cliffhanger with Kensi standing there trying to answer Deeks and we’ll have to wait a week (or longer? Is there a hiatus coming up?) to find out her reaction.
My hunch is that he’ll make a move, Kensi will balk, they’ll be awkward, she’ll leave (so Daniela Ruah can have maternity leave) and when she comes back, they’ll work it out.
In the KTLA interview, it was interesting how ECO said that Deeks and Kensi are “two people you know are clearly supposed to be together.” Makes me think he knows exactly where this is going and it isn’t the Tiva shove-it-under-the-rug route. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking.
Can’t wait to see William Russ as the guest star in this episode. I’m digging his sexy long hair.
Ok…I’ve done some thinking (although I promised I wouldn’t lose my mind over it), and I have come to the following conclusion.
I bet that even if the dinner is real and Deeks truly makes that confession, we won’t find out what happens next until ep 5×10. Also, we all expect Kensi to back down and break his heart but I have a feeling that Deeks is going to do it.
Last, I fear that when Kensi leaves for that long term mission, we won’t get a goodbye scene. I think Deeks will find it out after she’s gone.
