“Finale Burning Questions”

How can Callen go undercover again after killing the Chameleon in front of a live audience ??
“That’s assuming they ever let him out of prison!” says executive producer Shane Brennan. Since Chris O’Donnell is an integral part of the NCIS:LA universe, we’re thinking the charges won’t stick. But will Hetty (Linda Hunt), who’s made a habit out of quitting the team every year around this time, stay away for good ?? “Hetty’s resigned”, say Brennan. “We’ll see her in the opener, but she’s no longer with NCIS. She’s retired.” Look for Assistant Director Granger (Miguel Ferrer) to take over in her absence. The big question, though, is whether the Chameleon (Christopher Lambert) really knew Callen’s name, as he indicated in his final moments. That was a bluff, Brennan says. “He was just trying to get under Callen’s skin. Of course. It’s possible he did. I guess we’ll never know.”

What do you think about the hints Brennan gives us regarding Season Four ?? Leave a comment…

I don't think she is gone, Shane sayd “retired” which implies a lot more dots then a period…. I think we haven't seen the last of Hetty!

I hope we've not seen the last of Hetty – I can't imagine the show without her.

IMO it was a set-up, the Chameleon isn't really dead after all – we never saw the head shot, did we? So, I think it might be a set-up to establish Callen as having broken the law in order to find out more. Was the footage broadcast anywhere except on that big screen? If NCIS stopped transmission, then he'd be ok to continue as an agent.

As for finding out Callen's first name – that's got rather old, hasn't it? And given that he *somehow* got to the US from Europe, surely there would be immigration records, or passports, birth certificates, baptismal records etc? There's always a paper trail of some sort. Plus, as we saw him recover the childhood memory of playing on the beach, is it realistic that he wouldn't also remember his name? The 'not knowing his name' thing was an interesting premise at first, but it's been stretched a bit too far for me for credibility now, and quite honestly I'd rather find out more details about Sam manages to keep his real occupation a secret from his wife and more about Deeks' background.

I agree with Maxie Kay no head shot Callen would have done it in heartbeat. Hetty might be retired but she's still going to who the team will probley go. No one will wanna deal with Granger

    OMG

I just hope Callen can disguise itself again. I'm hoping that the Chameleon is not really dead and that Callen has not killed him.

It would be very interesting that the Chameleon was a frequent villain in the series. The series would be more interesting. As Wo Fat in H5-0.

And I hope always explore Callen, to me he is the best of the series and what makes watching. He, Sam and Hetty.

Deeks has been much explored in 2ª season, I want to see more of Sam, Nell and Eric.

Yeah, I don't think Callen really shot him either… and Hetty's resignation isn't “forever” as well… just a feeling though… a girl can hope, right ?? 😉 CU sindee

That just can't be… NCIS: Los Angeles without Hetty is like a body without soul -that just can't be.
So either she 'll stay around like Frank (?) in NCIS, and will pop up from time to time– or they'll find a way to get rid of Granger and she'd have to come back at the office…

But Maxie Kay, if Callen was raised or hidden by a gipsy family, there could be no paper at all: they always lived and travelled freely in Europe, with a kind of passeports on which you could add children names without checking. They are still allowed to.
And their children are not usually born at the hospital.
If a family entered US with children, and “lost” Callen as soon as possible, no way that anyone can find anything – and at that time the Cold War forbad any cooperation between Romania and US…

Hetty and gone? That can´t be.
She didn´t retired.I think, she knows all about Callen and not anybody other.
Hetty, Callen and Sam are the reason, why i watch NCIS: Los Angeles. They are the best.

NCIS: Los Angeles, the best team of the world.

Hi Cashkend: I take your point about *if* Callen was with a Romany family – but that wouldn't circumvent US immigration records! Anyone who's entered the US knows what a palaver you have to go through, and at the time he would have arrived, I think visas were required, and when I first visited the US you had to go to a US Embassy or Consulate in person to get it stamped into your passport. Plus, *why* would Callen forget his name? It's not like he was a babe in arms or anything. Presumably, not having a birth certificate, he would have to have been naturalised at some stage, and again you'd think detailed investigations would have been carried out, especially during the Cold War period, with the whole Romanian background. Likewise when he joined NCIS.
Anyway, be that as it may, we've still got backstories for the rest of the team to explore in more detail, especially Sam, who interestingly enough is the only member of the team who doesn't seem to have had a disfunctional childhood! Of course, we could find out that he did… Maybe that's why he's the only married person on the team? But one day his wife is going to find out he's lying and I'm guessing the sparks will start to fly!

I'm pretty sure Callen shot and killed the Chameleon. I can't really see why they would fake that, and in truth, they would all have to be in on it – Callen, Kensi (who checked the body) and the Chameleon (who was playing dead) anyways. I don't see what doing it would accomplish. But i guess we shall see in 3 months or so.
There was little Deeks in season 3, i want more exploration of his background. And maybe Sam. But not Eric or Nell cause they are really supporting characters and barely leave OPS anyway.
