Fans were left puzzled after watching this week’s NCIS Los Angeles episode “The Frozen Lake” where Kensi was reassigned to an unknown place for an unknown time right after she finally admitted “their thing” to Deeks and they were about to explore their new love.
Why, Hetty, why ??
Some assumed Hetty was boycotting DENSI (though she was kind of actively pushing it back in “Wanted” 4×17) when actually it was necessary because of the real life fact that Daniela Ruah is pregnant.
Daniela and her fiancé David Paul Olsen (Eric Christian Olsen [Marty Deeks]’s brother & stunt double) are expecting a little boy in early 2014.
Right after the news of Daniela having a baby got out in September NCISLA production started working on the storyline for Kensi to cover her maternity leave.

Seems that with Kensi being out in the field with Granger, Deeks will be paired up with Nell at least for one case according to this behind-the-scene picture tweeted by @RickTunell.
