NCIS:LA Magazine was the place where the CBS drama "NCIS Los Angeles" came alive! We were your number one online site for the latest behind-the-scenes news, interviews, reviews, photos, videos and everything NCISLA for many years! Thanks for your continuous support!!
I actually love that he goes by “G”. Why? Probably since my first name also starts with a “G” – & my BFF has called me that long before NCISLA was onair! Do I really want to know? Yes! But is the anticipation and mystery half the fun? Absolutely!
I really don’t want to know. I want to join G in his everlasting search and be the one to be around with every disappointment, with every new step. But G will remain G and I don’t quite know if I like it if anyone will start calling him names like Greg, Grigore, Granger.
It would be a great laugh however if he found out it was Michael, or Richard instead of a name starting with a G.
G could just as well stand for the 7th person in a row. Sounds sweeter than 7, although 007 is great as well 🙂
Hmm, interesting thought 🙂 Maybe he was the seventh orphan Hetty adopted or something 😉
blue dogs rock!!!!!
it would be good to know what it is.
but for me it is not that important because he will always be g callen
his journey to find out more about himself is more interesting

I still say it stands for “Gorgeous” 🙂 — but seriously, after 4 Seasons, I don’t want to know what his first name is. His is now, and always will be Special Agent G. Callen.

Personally I don’t care because he will always be G to me but since it’s such a pressing question for him, he deserves to know. He needs this to have a chance to settle down.

I know I should be nicer to our blue-eyed hero, but I’m with the “don’t want to know” group. The mystery just makes Callen that much more interesting to me. The torment of not knowing his name, remembering only bits and pieces of his past, is what makes G the man he is.

I totally agree- it would spoil the enigma to know.

Do I really want to know what the „G“ stands for? I’m not really sure but I think G deserves to know in the end – maybe in the last episode of the show which is hopefully years from now. I just can’t picture him as a George, Gerald, Gabriel or whatever. No matter what, he’ll always stay G Callen.
As justdreaming said, the mystery of his past and around his person contributes a large part to what makes G so interesting (besides his looks, obviously ☺).

Has anyone thought that maybe G Callen isn’t his complete name? He could have a double barrelled surname? When they were moved from Romania to the US maybe they removed part of his and his sister’s names. So instead of being the name on his birth certificate eg. G Callen-Smith, once dropped at the orphanage he became G Callen.

I think I would want him to find out his name because he has been waiting for so long for the truth and he really deserves it, and it’s so important to him, but I think what makes Callen’s character so intriguing is that it’s so mysterious and when/if we find out his full name then part of his mysterious character and the intrigue is lost. I also can’t see any name fitting him, the G just kind of fits him because he’s so enigmatic that the mystery about his name kind of defines who he is.

What if the G stands for Gordon and he is related to Marty! Aaaahhh! Mind blowing! Lol
