Episode: Season 1, Episode 14
PICTURE:
Alright, Callen Affectionados, here’s the picture of G.
Listening to Hetty.
Trying hard not to show amusement.
Hetty is tasking him with ending her when it’s obvious that she’s gone senile enough to blather all she knows to a world that should never know. Remember, if using a pillow, use synthetic. She’s allergic to feathers.
Callen just says okay. And sips his tea.
My squee for this picture is over the trust going on here. Callen is sipping tea from Hetty’s good china. He’s listening to her fears about the future. He offers to go undercover as an orderly to smuggle her the good tea (not in bags– because bagged teas taste like paper). She is grateful for him. And Callen doesn’t laugh.
So. Sweet!
QUOTE:
Callen: “Ow! You know I hate needles!”
Sam: “It’s the antidote, G. I just saved your life.”
Callen: “I don’t get a warning?”
Sam: “Oh, now I gotta warn you to save your life?”
-Written by Shane Brennan, R. Scott Gemmill, and Speed Weed
The best part of this quote is that this is the FIRST TIME we hear about G Callen having a weakness. A phobia. Whatever. Something that makes him human.
There it is! In all its glory.
Exciting, isn’t it?
Oh, and Callen sorta yelled at Sam… Of course, none of us blame G for that. After all, he had just been cut and dusted with the botulinum toxin. His life was literally passing before his eyes when Sam tackled him into the mall fountain.
Great quote.
Great scene.
Squee.
As always, any fans wishing to squee with me may do so in the comments.
Loved that scene with Callen and Hetty. Callen drinking out of a fine china tea cup = priceless. And that picture = Squee x 100 🙂
Since I am a really shallow viewer, especially when it comes to G. Callen, my only thought during that fountain scene was: Callen is all wet! 😉
Crystal
Oh that fountain scene. Just priceless! One my all-time fave Callen & Sam scene!
And that pic of Callen sipping tea? Yet another perfect Callen & Hetty scene!
Yes, yes, yes – squee, double squee and triple squeee!!
“Triple squee”? Whoa, that’s serious.
What a cute picture of G, he looks so relaxed, slightly amused, entirely at ease…
This was a very sweet, very personal moment between G and Hetty .
I actually liked the entire episode a lot. There was a lot of great interaction between the team and lot of funny moments and banter. I particularly enjoyed G predicting Sam’s reactions for Kensi when they were in the car waiting for the bad guy to appear at the meeting point.
Ah yes, the fountain scene – loved it! What a great Sam/G moment – Sam being the protector (again) and G’s characteristical childish stubbornness, unwilling to acknowledge that Sam just saved his life, complaining instead about the way he did it – too funny 🙂
You’re right, G is almost yelling at Sam – so G losing a little of his indestructible self-control here? No doubt, this scene makes him more human and allows a glimpse beyond the supernatural super agent G Callen.
(Though I have to confess that I, too, was paying more attention to the fact that a completely wet G Callen is kind of hot 😉
A lot of happy SQUEEs on my part for this post!
In fact I kept squee-ing over and over again about that enormous leap of G when he’s making sure to be at the right place & the right time to catch that little bottle… The leap with his gun drawn!
He’s performing cat-like in there. Can watch that scene over and over (& again!). That, besides the all wet Callen in that fountain. So weird they skipped the next scene (when he has to get rid of those wet clothes, THAT kind of scene, you get it?)…
Late to the Squee party. But squee-ing nonetheless, my fellow Callen fans. I just loved that episode! The leap for the vile, the look on his face when he looks down and realizes he’s been exposed to the toxin, shouting Sam’s name when he’s caught off guard being tackled into the fountain, the fist glimpse of a human side of our hero, and yes… then there’s the wet Callen.
That moment with Hetty at the end was so tender. She has such a trust for the boy. Ahhhhh. Yes! Definitely a squee-worthy post! Thanks Kevi!!!
That is one of my all time episodes (thus why I wrote a follow up piece of fanfic) I love the dive to catch the vial- absolutely gorgeous…..er I mean heroic……
Love the rugby tackle into the fountain too- fantastic scene and the whole is topped off by the lovely moment at the end that g shares with hetty- more like this is series five please?…. And yes I am squee’ing away!
Love the pic! It’s one of those that fans keep tweeting.
Thanks for the post 🙂
